More exciting news from us as we have finally opened our most recent new build pub in Ware, Hertfordshire. Located on the site of the former Chadwell Springs Golf Club, The King’s Mead is the latest pub to join our Destination Inns group which now numbers 15.
”The team will provide fresh food, international beers and our locally crafted ales, brewed using ‘brewers liquor’ (water!) that is extracted in Hertford from the same aquifers deep beneath the golf course and pub. Alongside the pub is a newly built family golf centre, with a new state of the art 20 flood-lit bay driving range, a practice green and 9 hole pitch and putt course which incorporates sporting craze ‘foot golf’. In addition a new Par 3 course will open in 2018.” said Heydon Mizon, Retail Director of McMullen’s.
Full table service will be offered at the pub with food & drink lovingly created to order. The King’s Mead features space for up to 140 diners as well as a large car park and cycle racks for active guests.
“This is an exciting project for us all at McMullen’s as it will provide those living in and around Hertford and Ware with a new pub, offering a great dining experience but also a new outdoors leisure facility, for all the family, based around golf” said Karen Jordan, Joint Manager. ”The facilities will appeal to experienced golfers looking for somewhere to practice and those wishing to learn the game will be able to book lessons with our resident PGA Professional, Dave Smith while the ‘foot golf’ facility will appeal to families simply looking to have a fun day out” added Steve Jordan, Joint Manager.
The King’s Mead has recruited 47 local stars for the opening, and undergone 2 weeks of intensive pre-opening training with the team to ensure visitors of Ware and beyond enjoy a seriously relaxed time.
“This is McMullen’s second recent new build pub and we are currently building a third in Colchester as we continue to acquire good quality pubs further afield when the opportunity arises” added Heydon.
