It’s International Women’s Day 2023 tomorrow and we’re taking the opportunity to shout about some brilliant women here at Mac’s, first up… Nat!

Nat has been a champion in our Food Team for 5 years and on board with Mac’s since 2007, so she knows a thing on two about creating and mastering new dishes. 👩‍🍳

With women making up only 17% of the chef work force in the UK, superstars like Nat aren’t too easy to find! Supporting and empowering women in the role is extremely important to her. Nat influences others to believe you can progress and achieve anything you put your mind to so don’t forget…never stop doing what you love! ♥

Next up is Lisa, one of the friendly faces at our pub the North Star. Lisa has been a GM for 4 years. She is a superstar mum, raising two daughters while independently running a pub. Lisa loves knowing that her girls are growing up seeing that you don’t have to choose between a family or a career!

Lisa believes it’s really inspiring to have a range of opportunities available for females within the hospitality industry!

Jenny is our Property Director and has raised two daughters, both of whom also work in the property industry!

As the first female member on the McMullen’s board, she is one of very few women in the industry to hold a property role at such a senior level 👩‍💼 Jenny loves finding unique properties that we can invest in and transform into pubs for guests to enjoy!

Her property team also includes four other females, so our pub developments are often purely led by our female team, which is a surprise to many on site! 👏

Meet Emily, a major go-getter, who at the age of 30 is General Manager at the Old Bank of England – Fleet Street. Emily has recently moved to this site after winning 4 awards at our annual conference for her performance running the Duke of Clarence.

In hospitality there is a lot of young team members that come into the industry. Emily believes it’s really important to encourage and inspire all members of the team, especially the younger ones, to be confident in what they do.

Emily believes in working hard to prove yourself, and be confident in yourself!
