The Old Crown to re-open as Macs Chicken and Grill pub concept

McMullen & Sons, the independent Hertfordshire pub operator and brewer since 1827, is delighted to announce that work has commenced on the former Bramwell site, ‘The Old Crown’ now known as ‘The Jolly Postie’.  A comfortable and stylish pub will be created, designed with real fires and quirky detail, harking back to the days of the Post Office. The pub will open in the Spring of 2015 with a new name, an exciting food offer including fresh rotisserie roasted chicken, char-grilled meats, wood fired pizza and whipped ice cream sundaes all professionally delivered with full table service. Food will be offered at great value, with additional discounts applied during week day lunch times.

We’re recruiting now, with the intention of taking on 50 team members, both front and back of house. The team will receive comprehensive pre-opening training and be fully competent in providing locally crafted real ales alongside worldly wines and credible coffee.

One of McMullen’s top Managers, Laura Jay, will be at the helm and is looking forward to getting ‘stuck in’. Laura has worked for ‘Macs’ for 13 years, starting as a team member and progressing through our award-winning training programme, she hopes that a large proportion of her new recruits will follow in her footsteps! Laura commented ‘I can’t wait to start and get involved with the amazing amount of events that seem to be going on in the local community, my passion is for people, great service and amazing food. I hope Royston is excited because I certainly am!’
