McMullen and Sons are proud to announce a new addition to the great family of managed pubs in the Home Counties, London and further afield.

After much mystery behind the unnamed location, we are pleased to announce that the most recent pub acquisition in Great Notley, Essex will be opening its doors to the public on May 9th. The Prince Louis is the latest pub to join the Chicken & Grill concept, which now numbers 13.  The first pub in the UK to be named in honour of the newest member of the Royal family (sister pub to The Prince George in Milton Keynes and Princess Charlotte in Colchester), was handed back from the builders as Prince Louis arrived making the name an easy decision.

“We are delighted to have acquired and invested in this pub which will contribute to the warm and friendly community of Great Notley. We hope that the locals will be just as happy to see it being reopened as we are” said Heydon Mizon, Joint Managing Director.

Claire and Aaron Wood, General Managers of The Prince Louis stated, “We are thrilled to be opening in McMullen’s newest pub, our team have commenced training and were excited as us to know the name of the baby and pub. We are looking forward to living in Great Notley and our Area Manager is looking forward to completing great Notley parkrun”

Heydon added “This is our most recent opening and follows on from previous Chicken & Grill and other concept openings at The Bootmaker- ChelmsfordKings Mead – WareChadwell Springs Family Golf Centre – Ware and The Princess Charlotte – Colchester. The Chicken & Grill concept is a small part of Macs, it was developed in 2007 as part of our diverse pub, bar and hotel estate. The next opening will be built in Biggleswade with the opening planned before Christmas”
