Welcome to the Saint & Sinner, purchased by the McMullen family in 2019 and opened in 2023. Named with a respectful nod to St Alban and a tongue in cheek with fun in mind, a diverse, and informal pub has arrived.
Originally built in the 1760’s, previously described as a “country house in town”, the Saint & Sinner resides in the grade II listed building that was once home to John Osborn – three times mayor of St Albans. Now reimagined as the ultimate destination venue, with character in abundance, perfect at any time. We create experiences around drink and food – craft beers, fresh cocktails, brunch favourites, lunch classics, artisan pizza and on Sundays, we roast!
While we do have an accessible entrance and toilet, due to the age of the building and is listed building status, it may not be accessible for all disability aids. Please get in touch if you would like to check in advance of your visit.
Whether you’re relaxing on the outdoor terrace, having a get together, meeting in one of our private spaces or just sat watching the world go by from our cocktail bar, we believe you’ll always feel at home. Whether you’re planning a big family get together, a work Christmas lunch, or an intimate festive dinner, make it special with us.
Private Hire, Birthdays and Events
The Chamber is found on the first floor, comfortably seating 10-14 guests for a sit-down meal or meeting or 10-20 for buffet and drinks.
The Parlour Rooms are semi-private and the perfect setting for a cocktail reception, followed by drinks & nibbles. Catering for 15-26 to dine.
The Cocktail Room creates an outstanding event space for multiple occasion; family get together, birthday party, christening, or even product launches. A private space for 15-30 people with drinks and buffet or drinks only.
Eden room truly brings the outside in with glazed retractable walls that, open fully, allow you to be at one with the outside world. Up to 30 guests can enjoy a sit-down meal or up to 50 can enjoy drinks with or without buffet.
Eden & the Cocktail Room: combined together, with their own exclusive bar, the Eden and Cocktail room gives you the perfect setting for larger events of 50 to 80 people. Suitable for buffet and drinks, or drinks alone.
